Hopefully a sign of the times; Pennsylvania just announced it is funding $33 Million in projects to improve rail freight traffic in their State. The full release is at: https://www.governor.pa.gov/newsroom/wolf-administration-invests-in-rail-infrastructure-supporting-business-development-and-more-than-200-jobs-statewide/

We are hopeful that, as the infrastructure funding approved in Washington earlier this year is distributed and available, more states dedicate funding to promote business, and specifically freight rail. The funding covers twenty-five projects of a variety of types and sizes.

It is crystal clear that shipping by rail offers a much lower “carbon footprint” than by truck. According to the American Association of Railroads (AAR), rail shipment is 3-4 times more fuel efficient than by truck. Want to know how beneficial your shipping by rail can be?
